Paragliding vs parasailing — they're not the same thing

Parasailing is what happens behind a boat at Goa beaches — you're towed by a rope, the winch controls everything, and the flight is a few minutes of passive lift.

Paragliding is actual aviation — a foot-launched aircraft, a pilot making decisions, real flight time measured in minutes-to-hours. It can soar, turn, climb and land on purpose.

Why it matters: when you book 'paragliding', you should be getting the second. If the offering describes a boat, a rope or a 3-minute tow, that's parasailing — a different (and simpler) experience.
