What paragliders do during monsoon — the off-season playbook

Monsoon grounds paragliding across India — that's universal, not site-specific. June through September, virtually nowhere flies commercially.

For pilots, the off-season is ground work: equipment maintenance, reserve repacks, ground-handling practice on flat fields, simulator time, theory revision.

For travellers, the takeaway is planning: any booking that promises monsoon flying at a mainland ridge site deserves scrutiny. The exception is Vagamon's September tail — Kerala's northeast monsoon timing is different.

The smart move is booking season-openers: October's first flights have the greenest ridges and the lowest prices of the year.
