Gangtok is the most organised paragliding option in India's northeast — short tandem flights launching from the ridges around the Sikkimese capital, flying over valleys with Kanchenjunga-range views on clear days.
It's a scenic tourist site rather than a training destination. Operations run seasonally and the weather in the hills is more changeable than mainland ridge sites — build a flexible schedule.
Season and conditions
The site runs roughly March–June and October–December, avoiding the monsoon and the coldest winter weeks. Clear mornings are the best windows — afternoon cloud build-up is common in the hills.
