Kerala's established flying site
Vagamon sits in the Idukki district on the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border — rolling meadows and pine forests at ~1,200 m. It's hosted the state's paragliding festivals and is the most consistent site in Kerala, where most other hills are too forested or too wind-shadowed to fly reliably.
The meadow launches are the appeal — soft grass take-offs with views over tea estates and the Western Ghats foothills. Tandem operations are the main activity; it's not a training hub.
Season and conditions
September through May is the flying window — Kerala's southwest monsoon ends earlier than the northeast monsoon begins, giving a longer season than most Indian sites. The driest, most stable air is December to February.
